The newly developed BIONZ X image processor enhances the A6400A's outstanding AF system. With 425 phase-detection and 425 contrast-detection AF points covering approximately 84% of the image, the system achieves a focus speed of just 0.02 seconds.
Real-Time Eye AF
Advanced Real-Time Eye AF with AI-based object recognition processes eye data in real time, ensuring precise autofocus in all modes. The feature is triggered by half-pressing the shutter button, and in AF-C or AF-A mode, the user can select the subject's left or right eye for focus.
Real-Time Tracking
Real-Time Tracking AF uses AI-based object recognition to analyse colour, subject distance, and brightness as spatial data, enabling precise tracking for any subject.
Outstanding Image Quality
The 24.2-megapixel imaging sensor, paired with the BIONZ X image processor, delivers exceptional performance. The ISO range extends up to ISO 32000 (expandable to 102400 for still images), with noise reduction enhancing image quality at medium and high sensitivities.
4K Video Capture
The A6400A supports internal 4K video recording with full pixel readout and no pixel binning. Oversampling collects approximately 2.4x the data required for UHD video, resulting in excellent footage. The Hybrid Log-Gamma profile enables Instant HDR workflows, a first for Sony cropped sensor cameras.
Elevated Time-Lapse Functionality
The internal Intervalometer captures frames at intervals of 1-60 seconds, allowing for stunning time-lapse videos. Users can set the total number of shots between 1 and 9999 and adjust AE tracking sensitivity (Low, Medium, High) for consistent exposure throughout the video.
