The Sony A7 V is here, and this is extremely exciting, especially given how well-loved its predecessor still is. While this version maintains a solid 33 megapixels, the sensor is now stacked with integrated AI, blackout-free bursts at 30 fps, and 1-second pre-capture. It also offers significantly stronger stabilisation (7.5 stops vs the A7 IV’s 5.5), and filmmakers will love the uncropped 4K60 and 4K120 in Super 35, plus LUT import and smarter auto white balance. Add in a sharper, articulating screen, a better grip, quieter shutter control and longer battery life, and you can see how this is a real leap forward for Sony.
Sony A7 V Digital Camera Body
With a partially stacked 33MP sensor and XR2 processor with integrated AI, the A7 V brings A9-style speed to Sony’s hybrid line. This faster readout supports blackout-free 30fps bursts, consistent real-time subject recognition, and records full-frame 4K60p without crop. A 7.5-stop stabilisation system increases handheld margin in low light, while Composite and Extended RAW modes strengthen control over noise, narrowing the gap between A7 series spec and Sony’s high-end architecture.
