Professional Audio Capture

Designed for sound professionals and filmmakers, the F8N Pro field recorder helps record clean and sharp audio with its eight inputs to capture a full dynamic range. It can capture even complex audio to create an immersive audio experience. It ensures that your sound sources will be amplified with sonic accuracy and anticipates audio-clipping before it is recorded, thanks to the professional-grade preamps and dual A/D converters. The recorder is capable of recording in BWF-compatible WAV formats at a maximum resolution of 32-bit/192 kHz. The resulting audio is uncompressed and offers industry-standard file compatibility.

Multiple Output Feeds

The recorder includes three output connections – one unbalanced 3.5 mm submix output, and two TA3 balanced main outputs. Both the main and sub outputs can be connected to different or identical sources. These multiple-output feeds support external connections to headphones, cameras, and other devices. It allows phase inversion, signal routing, and mid-side decoding from all inputs to all outputs. The high-pass filter helps in reducing any ambient noise like the sound of wind or other noises. It also allows you to keep tabs on your tracks pre or post-fader, and check levels or route signals to the right and left.

Massive Storage and Power Options

Well equipped for long location shoots and remote fieldwork, the recorder uses eight AA alkaline batteries and provides up to 5 hours of operation. It has a variety of other power options such as its AD-19 AC Adapter or the external 9-18 V DC battery pack, connected via a 4-pin Hirose connector. The recorder is capable of recording simultaneously on two SD cards (up to 1 TB each) and allows redundant recording. You can record high-resolution audio for long periods of time and it also features a pre-record function to capture up to six seconds of audio before the Record button is hit.

Efficient Remote Control Options

There are efficient remote control options available to enable extensive external control. For fluid hands-on remote control, the Zoom F-Control (FRC-8) allows flexible and tactile controls for transport operations, arming tracks, pan, and more. For wireless remote control, the F8 Control application (for iOS and Android devices) allows you to monitor signals, adjust levels, enter metadata, trigger transport control, and more. It can be connected to your device via Bluetooth.

The F8N Pro field recorder includes a 2.4-inch full-colour backlit display for viewing and monitoring settings. It includes a monochromatic mode, allowing you to work easily in low or direct lighting situations.

How many DS card slots are available?

There are two SD/SDXC/SDHC card slots that support up to 1 TB SD card each and allow you to simultaneously split recordings and instantly backup data.

Is it compatible with microphone capsules?
