How do you improve on one of the best cameras of all time? Sony has answered the question with the new A7R VI, which takes everything that was great about the A7R V, and pushes it further. With a 66.8MP Exmor R sensor, this is the new highest-resolution full-frame mirrorless camera, but what’s really exciting is that the sensor has a stacked design.

Traditionally reserved for sports-focused cameras, the stacked design buffs the operational speeds of this resolution monster camera, enabling it to shoot at up to 30fps, blackout-free in the viewfinder, with 1 sec pre-capture to ensure you never miss the moment. Its autofocus system makes up to 60 calculations per second, and benefits from class-leading AI-powered subject tracking.

Somehow, all this comes in a body that’s slightly lighter than the A7R V, which Sony says is down to the A7R VI’s new battery. And if 66.8MP isn’t enough for you, a composite-shot mode allows you to create images with a whopping resolution of 256MP.
