Compact enough to carry, capable enough to plan shots

The DJI Lito 1 is small enough to carry in a shoulder bag or side pocket without becoming a burden, yet still shoots like a larger, professional imaging drone. In regular use, the drones that actually make it into the air to shoot are the lightest and easiest to carry day to day. With a foldable body, 249g weight, up to 4K video, 100 fps slow motion, and 48 MP stills, the Lito 1 provides ample shooting room without turning every flight into a chore.

A safer, steadier flight

One of the most important parts of the DJI Lito 1 is not simply its high-grade image quality, but how approachable it feels once it’s in the air. Omnidirectional obstacle sensing with forward-facing LiDAR gives the drone a more balanced flight, especially when making small corrections near trees, walls, or other structures in open outdoor spaces. It does not remove the need to fly carefully or eliminate its clear operating limits, but it does make controlling the aircraft feel less nervous and unforgiving. For newer pilots, that can be the difference between second-guessing every move and actually concentrating on framing.

Tracking and considered footage

ActiveTrack is the kind of feature that changes how a compact drone is used. Instead of splitting your attention between steering, speed, and subject placement, you can let the drone hold onto a moving person or vehicle and focus on the shape of the shot. That gives the footage a calmer, more deliberate feeling, particularly with walking shots, gentle reveals, and side-follow angles. In good lighting and under sensible conditions, it helps the DJI Lito 1 produce clips that feel planned rather than improvised, which is exactly what many people want from a small drone they can take anywhere.

Refine a shot in one take

Flight time has a direct effect on how a drone feels to use, and the DJI Lito 1 has enough of it to take the pressure off. With up to 36 minutes from the standard Intelligent Flight Battery, you will have time to climb, check the scene, adjust your angle, repeat a move, and still leave yourself a comfortable margin to return. That makes a real difference when you are trying to get a single clean pass, rather than simply filming whatever you can before the battery warning appears.

Clear live view and location rhythm

The 15km transmission figure matters less as a headline number than it does for what it suggests in practice: a stable, smooth live view that helps the drone feel precise and easy to place. When the feed stays clear, small framing adjustments become more confident, and that is especially useful when you are hovering at height and building a composition slowly. Combined with the DJI Fly app support, straightforward activation, and compatibility with the RC-N3 (included) or RC 2 controller, the DJI Lito 1 has a simple rhythm on location. It is quick to set up, easy to fly, and capable of producing excellent 4K footage.

Кnоw thе rulеѕ!

The UK’s drone regulations are evolving from 1 January 2026, introducing a new class-marking system (UK0-UK6) and updated operating categories based on risk, location, and proximity to people. Any drone weighing 100g or more will now require a Flyer ID, and if it has a camera, you’ll also need an Operator ID. While legacy drones remain legal, they may face stricter distance limits unless upgraded or replaced with class-marked models. Remote ID will also become mandatory for many drones, enhancing accountability by broadcasting identification and location data during flight.

For commercial operations, pilots must ensure their drones are compliant with class markings, hold the appropriate qualifications (such as the A2 CofC or Operational Authorisation for higher-risk flights), and have valid third-party insurance. As always, you must fly within visual line of sight, below 120m, and away from restricted areas. Always make sure you understand the latest rules and stay compliant before taking to the skies.

FAQs

Is the DJI Lito 1 a suitable drone for beginners?

Yes, the DJI Lito 1 is a very approachable drone for newer pilots, mainly because it combines a compact body with flight aids that make everyday flying feel less tense. Omnidirectional obstacle sensing helps the aircraft operate with more awareness in suitable conditions, and ActiveTrack makes it easier to produce steady-looking footage without constant manual corrections. The low take-off weight also helps keep the whole package easy to carry and less intimidating to launch regularly. It still requires careful operation and awareness of local rules, but it is much more accessible to people of all abilities.

What image quality does the DJI Lito 1 offer?

The DJI Lito 1 records standard video at up to 4K/60 fps, supports slow-motion recording at up to 4K/100 fps, and also offers 2.7K vertical recording for smartphone-friendly clips. For stills, it can capture images at up to 8K 48MP, which is useful when you want extra room for cropping or higher-resolution output. That gives it a wider photographic range than one would expect from such a small aircraft.

How long can the DJI Lito 1 fly for?

With the standard DJI Lito 1 Intelligent Flight Battery, the maximum flight time is up to 36 minutes. That figure is measured in controlled conditions, so real-world results will vary with wind, temperature, speed, and how often you change direction or altitude during a flight.

How do I operate the DJI Lito 1?

The DJI Lito 1 is compatible with both the DJI RC-N3 and DJI RC 2 controllers, but is only operable with the DJI Fly app. When using the included DJI RC-N3, you install the app on your phone and connect to it that way, whereas the compatible DJI RC 2 already has the app installed. The app is used for activation, setup, firmware prompts, and general control, so it is a required part of using the drone rather than an optional extra. Plus, simulator app support helps newer pilots practise controls before flying for real.

Is the DJI Lito 1 waterproof?

No, the DJI Lito 1 is not waterproof. You should avoid contact with water during use, as it may damage the aircraft. If it starts raining during a flight, you should return and land as soon as possible. Before flying again, the drone should be fully dry inside and out. As with the obstacle sensing system, other sensible conditions matter here too, since the vision system works best on surfaces with discernible texture and in good lighting above 5 lux.

What is the difference between the DJI Lito 1 and the DJI Lito X1 aircraft?

The DJI Lito 1 is the more straightforward everyday aircraft option in the range, focusing on compact flying, 4K capture, 8K 48 MP stills, ActiveTrack, omnidirectional obstacle sensing, and a 249g folding body that is easy to carry and quick to launch. The DJI Lito X1 takes that same compact format and adds a more advanced 1/1.3-inch sensor, 10-bit D-Log M, and 42GB of internal storage. In practical use, the Lito 1 suits buyers who want a simple, capable aerial camera for everyday shooting, while the Lito X1 gives you more room for higher-end image quality, grading flexibility, and a more polished flying experience. Both are designed to stay accessible, but the X1 is the more premium model in the lineup.

What do I need to know before flying a drone in the UK under the new regulations?

From 1 January 2026, new drones sold in the UK must carry a UK class mark (UK0-UK6), while existing EU C-class drones remain valid until 31 December 2027. Drones without a UK or EU class mark are treated as legacy models and follow weight-based rules. A Flyer ID is required for any drone weighing 100g or more, and an Operator ID is required for any drone 100g or more with a camera, or any drone 250g or more. Remote ID becomes mandatory from 2026 for most class-marked drones and from 2028 for almost all drones weighing 100g or more with a camera. Where you can fly depends on the drone’s class and weight, but all flights must stay below 120m, remain within visual line of sight, respect airspace restrictions, and follow UK CAA rules.
